Thyroid Freedom Run Club · Free · Virtual
Running on T3 & caffeine? You have a team now.
The Thyroid Freedom Run Club is a free, virtual club for anyone with a thyroid condition, and anyone who loves someone who has one. Run, jog, or walk anywhere in the United States, at any pace. Monthly challenges on Strava, a place to compare notes on training with a thyroid condition, and an official club shirt whose profits support The Thyroid Foundation.
How it works
Four steps. No membership fee. No minimum pace.
1
Sign up below
Tell us your name, where you run, and how far. We’ll send the Strava club link and a monthly email with the current challenge.
2
Join us on Strava
Our club lives on Strava, which is free. Log your runs and walks there and they count toward the monthly challenge automatically.
3
Run the monthly challenge
Each month has a simple goal — miles, minutes, or days active — with a leaderboard for the competitive and a cheering section for everyone else.
4
Wear the shirt, spread the word
The Running on T3 & Caffeine tee is the official club shirt. 100% of profits support the Foundation’s advocacy for thyroid freedom.
Run for research
Turn your miles into money for thyroid research. Two ways, pick either.
Ask friends and family to sponsor you. No accounts, no apps.
Type your name and goal below, then send the note to the people who love you. They give on the Foundation’s own secure page and type your name. That’s it — nothing to set up, nothing to manage.
- Send the note. Use the buttons to copy it, or open it straight in your email or text messages.
- Friends give at thethyroidfoundation.org/sponsor and type your name in the box.
- Walk or run. The Foundation keeps a tally by name and thanks every sponsor.
Want a fundraising page with a progress bar? Use GoFundMe.
Good for runners who already use apps. Your miles on Strava show up on your fundraiser automatically.
1
Start a GoFundMe for the Foundation
On gofundme.com choose Start a GoFundMe → Charity, and search for The Thyroid Foundation (EIN 39-4507234). Every dollar goes straight to the Foundation, never through you, and your donors get a tax receipt automatically.
2
Connect your Strava
In your fundraiser’s settings choose Connect Strava (GoFundMe calls it “Strava for a Cause”). From then on every run or walk you log posts to your page with the distance — no typing, no spreadsheets.
3
Share your link
Post your fundraiser on Instagram, Facebook, or a group text. Tag @mythyroiddoctor and #ThyroidFreedom so the Foundation can cheer you on and reshare you.
Copy-and-paste fundraiser story
“I have a thyroid condition, and I’m running [your goal] this [month or season] with the Thyroid Freedom Run Club. Every dollar goes to The Thyroid Foundation, a nonprofit fighting for real treatment options for thyroid patients — not one-size-fits-all care. My miles update here automatically from Strava. Cheer me on with a donation of any size.”
Fees: GoFundMe takes no platform fee on charity fundraisers; card processing is about 2.2% + 30¢ per donation. Donations are tax-deductible; the receipt comes from PayPal Giving Fund. You never need to share your diagnosis — say as much or as little as you like.
